Background

Although members started this specific non profit in 2026, members have been involved in the projects goals for a decade. Members wanted to combine three different passions of the founders in one non profit aimed at increasing access in three areas of Behavior Analysis.  The first includes providing free training to caregivers and schools with minimal support in Africa and around the world.  The second is access and training to enable stakeholders to use skills assessments such as the Assessment of Behavioral Cusps, allowing progress monitoring and goal selection for children on the spectrum.  Finally, we are also on a mission to provide no or low cost Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to members of the ABA community. This includes trainings with hands on approaches to skill acquisition, prompt hierarchy, maladaptive behaviors, and parent trainings (not just theoretical constructs).  In formalizing our work into this non profit organization, we hope to further the mission of the founders to increase the quality instruction of concrete applied behavior analysis methods to help caregivers and providers provide top notch support to individuals diagnosed with Autism or related disorders.

Impact

We have already made an impact in the city of Nairobi, Kenya, offering free training to caregivers and schools during yearly trips over the last 4 years.  Members have also attended the Pan African Congress on Autism, presenting on how to provide evidence-based ABA services to participants. Ongoing ABA services in Nairobi are also provided by behavior technicians trained by the founders of Operant Edge Behavioral Institute. Founders have also produced many CEU trainings as ACE certified providers over the years as parts of different ACE providers.
